bookmark_borderEver been in a Fight? Time to find out if you can win…

Have you ever been in a fight? Well, it’s time for you to go start a fight!!

Hey, I’m not a fighter, I’m a lover. But, everyone needs an “enemy.” Everyone needs a ‘reason’.

So it’s time for you to lace up and pick a fight. No, no… Please don’t take a swing at your partner tomorrow morning for not doing the dishes. Stay with me here!

luke vs vader

Luke had Darth Vader.

Batman had the Joker.

David has Goliath.

The right wing conservatives have the left wing liberals.

“Independent” coffee lovers have Starbucks.

Healthy eating has McDonald’s.

You get the point.ronalds fast food empire thwarted

An enemy gives you a reason to fight. Having to fight and facing adversity, challenges your skills and character.

It forces you to showcase your talents and capabilities to “win” the fight.

In fact, without a “fight,” or without purpose, what happens? You become complacent. You become “comfortable.” The drive and the “fire” is almost non-existent.

You lose purpose and passion. You’ve probably heard the saying or had the thought “there’s nothing to fight for anymore.”

Maybe it’s a personal thing. There comes a point with your body that after years of feeding it bad and unhealthy foods, you ultimately think there’s no hope. You’ve gained so much weight and feel so lethargic, it must be impossible to get out of this sinkhole — success has become so far out of your reach, there’s no hope or no reason to try for success.

You’re so out of shape, walking up the stairs becomes a task. Bending over to pick up your new born may as well be like picking up a boulder. You get what I’m saying?

And that’s why you have to find an enemy and pick a fight!

Let’s find some butt for you to kick…

Example: For me, I try to inspire greatness in people. I want to help people to live healthy, feel incredible, be happy and accomplish things they never thought possible.

My enemy?

TV GutFast food. Easy Street. Laziness. Lack of discipline. Packaged foods. Deceptive Marketing. Quick fixes. Overhyped promises. Lack of passion. Mediocrity. Pessimism, etc.

But you can’t put a Big Mac in the ring and try to drop kick it.

Give your enemy a face.

What’s your “enemy?”

So you want to ignite your passions and drive again? Find an enemy, pick a fight, and overwhelm your enemy till they are CRUSHED!

Let me help you…. Can your life be healthier, happier, and overall much “better” than it is right now?

Hey, maybe it’s yourself whom you aren’t happy with.

Take out an old picture of yourself and put it on the refrigerator door if there was a time when you were happier with how you looked and how you felt. After all, there’s no better judge of you than you.

I’m not saying to get caught up in how you used to look and feel — that’s not it at all. But get fired up about what change you want to make and move towards improvement!

Then, (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART) put up images surrounding that old image of what diminished your happiness and good looks.ali famous picture

Your ‘enemy’ or ‘enemies’ will be in plain view to get you fired up. Ignite a little heat under that backside and let’s “fight against the negative enemy” together.

bookmark_borderLow Fat!! Healthy right?

Fat freeWrong!  See the thing is, if your goal is fat loss, you are mentally priming yourself to eliminate fat from the body.  Good!  But, this is where corporations capitalize because they know you are trying to loose weight, they immediately market a low-fat product making you think it is OK or healthy.  As a consumer you need to be very weary of nutritional labels so you don’t make mistakes on your diet when it comes to loosing weight or gaining muscle.  Products labeled low fat are generally less healthy than the products that have full fat in them!  Why is this you ask?  That is because fat ads flavor to certain processed food, without that fat it takes away flavor.  So to make up for it, the company will usually put more processed sugar (carbs) and added chemicals to improve the balance of “healthy” to flavor.  So you in FACT are getting something low-fat, but you just replaced the fat for a high  processed sugar content which is inevitably Reduced fat peanut butterWORSE.  All those sugars (carbs) are going to spike your insulin  pretty fast and if you are not active during the time of metabolism of those sugars, it will all be stored in your body as FAT ANYWAY!   The moral is to watch your out for food labels and pay attention to what you are putting into your body.  If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!

bookmark_borderUnconscious food choices will lead you to DISASTER!

Being that it is Labor day weekend, there was a segment today about cooking.

And I am sure all of you out there over the weekend will be having outdoor barbecues and eating hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, corn dogs, potato salad, chips and dip, and anything else you can get your hands on.

The segment was how to make a mac and cheese hot dog casserole.

And  to the untrained eye, it sounds pretty good!

So as I watched this, I was in disbelief of the ingredients: a box of white pasta, what looked like 10 hot dogs grilled and sliced ,  a quart of Alfredo sauce, 2 fist fulls of cheddar cheese, 2 fist fulls of crushed Doritos chips, and top it off with more cheddar cheese, bake, then serve, then put more Doritos on top… and more cheese.

The chef said he created this dish because his kids wanted something fun.

And you know what, that’s fine.  The kids will have it and not have to worry a bit about their health, diet, or nutrition.

But you better believe that if this dish is served at some BBQ party, it’s going to be mostly the adults who are digging in!

And it is the unconscious mind that doesn’t take into account how destructive this meal could be to someone who is trying to lose weight.

Little do you know, this meal contains well over 100 grams of fat, 10,000mg of sodium (your daily intake should be 2,200mg), and several hundreds of grams of carbs.

I think I’m gaining weight just typing this….

The point is, although this whole dish may sound delicious…its terrible for you.

We need to be conscious of the effects some foods will have on our bodies.

And yes, I know a lot of you, if not most of you just love food because it tastes good.  Thats fine.

But, it is important to be aware of the stuff you are putting into your body… instead of wondering why you are gaining weight or why your stomach feels so full when it is actually bloated from to much sodium.

And who knows, maybe being more aware of what makes up the foods you are eating will make you realize that you are just doing a disservice to yourself.

Oh yeah, check out the video here…Mac and Cheese Hot Dog Surprise…I don’t know about you, but I was laughing through the entirety of this video! Enjoy!
